The world still turns even as it falls apart

I am on an airplane. I am often on an airplane. I was on an airplane yesterday. And the day before. And two days before that. You get the picture. When you travel a lot, you develop routines. You pack and unpack a certain way. You have preferences that, when satisfied, make the to and fro just a little easier to tolerate. And, as you might expect, you also develop pet peeves. Normally innocuous things make you very impatient. I won’t bore you with the list (it is long) but suffice it to say, people could probably handle going through security and boarding a bit better and there is a major problem of adults not using headphones in circumstances where that would be appropriate which is ALL OF THE TIME.
