I’m teaching a class right now, AI in Fiction, we just completed our first week: never have I experienced such intensity of thought and feeling in the first week of a class.

My students certainly don’t all have the same points of view on AI and the role it’s assuming among us, but they speak with the urgency of people who recognize how high the stakes are.

I hope we all do.

Powerful. I’m a naive optimist who has to believe humans will make art for all time because we’re driven to, and somehow, somehow, one day that will matter more than capitalism.
