For the week of May 29th
I absolutely love everything you write. Love your books, newsletter, NYT column, Goodreads reviews. You are a gem.
With all the work the youth are doing to clean up big piles of boomer crapola, I think they deserve a whole year abed. Bless.
I've "rotted" a few beds in my youth, now I can't seem to do it even on Sundays, which used to be my favorite rotting bed days. LOL!
That neighbor. 2PM curfew. The lawn mower. All I can say is I always invite my neighbors even though I know they won't come, but they let me use their driveways for parking and they'd nicely keep the noise down if I'd need them to.
I appreciate Dr. Pape for his dedication to the home country. We need more of him. Reading about the work he's been doing in Haiti ignites my guilt for "bailing out." Now, I wish I had a solution for the many problems my country is facing, but bringing outside "help" has NEVER worked because the helpers have a strong hand in what ails the patient. From the comfort of my American home, I can say that the solution rests with the Haitian people. They are capable of running the country if the interference from all the former and current colonizers would stop.
