Reading about your days almost exhausted me - 😂 But I am very grateful for all the good things you are doing in all of your worlds, especially spending time with your Dad. Many thanks. 💜💜
My husband’s life is literally run by DuoLingo. For a while he did it in bed every night but it was soooooo annoying. The dinging!! Ah! So he’s in the living room.
Also thanks for the DITL. Do you ever feel like you’re in a rhythm? Also does it hurt your brain to have a different schedule and events every day? Like that takes up a lot of brain space! The late nights you describe are stressing me out. I go to sleep at like 9:30. Granted I also have a kid and wake up at 5:30am but…. I’ve always kinda done that. But the food descriptions are A+ and making me hungry again. Anyway that was entertaining so thanks!
Happily or sadly, I relate to this. So many aha, me toos...moments as I read this DITL account. Ok, so, I don't have that many book-related events, although I wish I did, but as an immigrant advocate in my community, I've been particularly busy lately with all the fuckery going on with ICE. I y'all know!!! And my second novel is launching on 7/15/25, so there's that.
I love the time with your papa, make me wish I still had mine and my late maman too. Always take time to de-stress, I've learned with age and wisdom that everything can wait or go on without me.
I just cannot believe the many things you do and the grace with which you do them. You are amazing. Side note (like you have time to be reading side notes) I am thrilled you and Debbie bought The Rumpus.
perhaps my favorite DITL ever! thanks for sharing.
It’s like you plunked down on the couch and talked to ME! You’re the best writer.
Very enjoyable read. Thank you for sharing your week with us.
Using up socializing calories—that phrase will come in handy for me. Also, I looked up Manhattan schist. I really enjoyed this whole essay!
“Used up all my socializing calories for the week” - thank you for this phrase. It will be heavy in my rotation.
Thanks for sharing your week, Roxane. I especially love all the food and schedule details, lol.

Duolingo is so passive aggressive. You're not alone!

Stay cool this summer!

This was lovely and soothing to read -- I hope you have similar soothing days ahead! It reminded me of how I like to read published journals.
Thanks soo much for sharing. I've often wondered how you do it all. Now I'm even MORE amazed that you actually do, DO IT ALL!
You are truly an inspiration!
